Today’s student-athletes face more pressure during the recruiting process than ever before. As stakes continue to rise in college sports, high school kids are being asked to manage an ever-evolving recruiting landscape that rarely emphasizes “best fit” over “biggest program”.The support needed for families to make informed decisions about selecting a college is far less available than one may assume. The average time that a high school student-athlete in the state of Texas spends speaking with their school-provided guidance counselor over a four-year span is just 12 minutes (vs the national average of 38 minutes). In conjunction, the social pressures that young athletes face to make the “best” choice has resulted in a steep rise in anxiety, prolonged sadness, and other mental health issues. In conjunction with Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, Athletes to Athletes will continue to provide resources that help educate and empower the next generation of students-athletes. Through topical content and 1:1 advising opportunities through their program, Athletes to Athletes aims to prepare the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football audience to find their “best fit” college - both on and off the field. For nearly 60 years, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has been “the bible” to millions of football fans across the Lone Star State. This partnership allows Athletes to Athletes to share their story, mission and service offering to some of the most passionate high school parents and coaches in the United States in an effort to change the narrative around college recruiting. “Athletes to Athletes provide a needed service to families who have an athlete considering their options to compete in their sport at the next level,” Sports In Action (owner/operator of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football) President Adam Hochfelder said. “We like the fact that they are not a recruiting service. Athletes to Athletes provides guidance to help student-athletes and their families find the best fit for their collegiate careers among existing options. The “choice of college” process is complicated - even more so for student-athletes. We think Athletes to Athletes will fill that void in an effective and personal way.”The partnership with Dave Campbell’s Texas Football comes amid the company achieving several key milestones including being selected as one of 1,000+ applicants into Newchip’s global accelerator program. “We are incredibly excited to work with Dave Campbell’s Texas Football,” said Reid Meyer, CEO and co-founder of Athletes to Athletes. “A Texas staple, Dave Campbell has built a reputation of providing the highest quality content to the high school market for decades. We can't think of a better group to work with as we too strive to educate and empower high school student-athletes.”
