This first ever event for HBCU players, which is hosted at the University of South Alabama, is one of the latest clear investments into Black student-athletes, but it’s certainly not the only one taking place.
Moving from the gridiron to the hardwood we see the NBA making strides as well as they are set to host the inaugural HBCU basketball classic during NBA All-Star weekend where Howard and Morgan State will be featured. Check out HBCU Gameday’s article that gives a full assessment of this event as well as much more.

As you can see, the HBCU student-athlete investment spans a number of sports and has continued to grow.
