Some of the biggest NFT investors and creators are in the sports world. It was reported by CBSnews.com that “NBA stars Zion Williamson and LeBron James have offered NFTs that sold for more than $100,000 each.”

Then you have Odel Beckham Jr., who receives part of his salary from the Los Angeles Rams in Bitcoin, who owns the CryptoPunk 3365 NFT that he sported on his warmup t-shirt a few weeks ago. It’s reported that the NFT was offered for $2.17m this summer.

But professional athletes aren’t the only ones getting in on the non-fungible fun. Oregon Ducks DE Kayvon Thibodeaux made an NIL NFT deal with Nike owner and creator Phil Knight and sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield.

In an article by ESPN.com, Hatfield said that the NFT design, which was first shown on Thibodeaux’s twitter, that "the art is completely hand-drawn on my iPad using Sketchbook Pro," Hatfield said of the Thibodeaux NFT. "He's an extraordinarily large and quick athlete with game-changing ability. I hope I captured his athleticism and the impact he's made for the University of Oregon."

The list of athletes that are dipping a toe or completely diving into the NFT pool will continue to grow. Recently, the Athletes to Athletes team discussed how NFTs are becoming part of the sports landscape.
