Navigating The Evolving NIL Landscape
The NIL is still in its infancy. But we have seen a tremendous amount of strides taken on this front thus far by both athletes as well as schools.
So far athletes have signed deals with major companies like UConn’s Paige Bueckers, who was recently announced as the first college athlete to ink an NIL deal with Gatorade. The stellar women’s college basketball star has also signed a deal with StockX, a popular e-commerce app where many flock to buy sneakers. Bueckers has deployed a strategy when it comes to garnering these deals that stretches beyond just being talented inside in the lines of a basketball court which has also made her incredibly recognizable.
But not everyone is Bueckers. There are plenty of athletes who have gotten some help when it comes to bringing in the partnerships and some of that help has come from the schools they represent. For instance, Nebraska, as well as North Carolina, and Ohio State, put some things in place to help their athletes navigate this new and developing space.
All three school, along with about 17 others, have made partnerships with The Brandr Group. To get some details on how TBG is helping schools and student-athletes navigate these new waters check out the schools announcements of their partners and listen to President and Founder of The Brandr Group, Wesley Haynes, discuss what his company is doing.
